Please Help Translate My Mri Results Posted: 02-12-07 22:52pm
I had an mri of the cervical and thorasic,
although the doctor did go through the
results with me it seemed like a lot to
take in at one time. I'm still concerned
as I don't understan my results fully.
mri of cervical without
contrast....
there is a 0.7cm non-specific marrow
change seen in the t2 body. This
demonstrates increased t2 signal without
definite increased t1 signal. There is no
edema in the surrounding bone.
There is degeneratiive desiccation of the
c2-3, c4-5 and c5-6 disc spaces with mild
disc space narrowing predominatly at
c5-6.
At c5-6, there is a disc bulge leading to
difuse impression upon the ventral sac,
there is no canal or foraminal stenosis.
C6-t read the same as above
impression:
3. Loss of cervical lordosis, this may be
positional or a reflection of muscular
spasm.
4. There is a non-specific 0.7 cm lesion
of the t2 vertebral body. The imaging
characteristics are generally benign.
Follow up is recommended to ensure
stability or correlation with bone scan to
exclude active process would be
recommended.
mri of thorasic without contrast:
there is mild dextroscolliosis of the
dorsal spine.
At t6-7, there is a small to moderate
sized extruded right paracentral disc
herniation. This leads to impression pon
the right ventral sac and abuts the right
ventral cord. There is no central
stenosis.
At t8-9, there is a small left paracentral
disc herniation leading to focal
impression upon the left ventral sac and
mild impression upon the left ventral
cord. There is no centralstenosis.
At t10-11, there is a broad-based disc
herniation largest centrally leading to
diffuse impression upon the ventral sac,
greatest centrally. There is no canal or
foraminal stenosis.
At t11-12 =, there is a left paracentral
disc herniation leading to impression upon
the left ventral sac. There is no affect
upon the cord. There is a cephalad
migration of the disc material to the
lower t11 level also to the left
midline.
impression:
1. There is a 2 x 3 cm mass, possibly a
cyst in the area of the right lobe of the
thyroid
2. Mild dextroscoliosis
iv'e neglected to include the entire
report as some of it is quite obvious, as
for the above ... Any help would be
greatly appreciated.
Thank you

neurosurgeon? no no no what are you
talking about haha.
Whoever did ur MRI should have explained
it in lamen terms. Try typing the
terminology your having particular
difficulty with in google, or wikipedia.
