Has anyone had moderate to severe depression during pregnancy and if so, what did you do?? I am so freaked out with having to take medication. It is so difficult to tell via research studies if there are any long term "soft sign" affects due to medication use during pregnancy. This is due to so many other variables such as genetic predisposition, etc. I may need some medicinal assistance but really don't want to put anything in my body because of possible side effects later in the child's life.

I honestly don't think you've hit depression yet. You have a lot of things thrown at you at once right now and need to cope.

Are you still on bedrest?

Do you feel like waking up in the morning?
Do you feel like showering?
Do you feel like eating?
Do you feel like doing anything during the day?
Do you spend time with your son playing?

I have gone thorough depression and have felt myslef falling back into it lately but I am forcing myself to go through daily routines to try and get out of it. If I still feel this way in another 2 weeks I will go get meds or something as it's been about 2 months of feeling like this. Confused

I was on paxil for 6 yrs before getting preggo with trey and weaned myslef of the pills. I would never go back on paxil but I may check out some other ones. I wasn't depressed during pregnancy but after. O.M.G I wanted to die. Seriously.

I honestly don't feel like doing anything. I just want to cry all the time. I don't feel like eating and I have to force a smile on myself when I play with my son. I don't want to play but I do because it's for him. Perhaps it's circumstantial and will subside. I will tell my doctor tomorrow but it has been getting worse each day. Each day something else seem to happen. So, it may subside...I certainly hope so.
