Iud's are known to lengthen periods sometimes.

I had both a mirena and copper iud. The mirena hormonal iud caused me problems, but I loved the copper iud.

My periods were always normal.

What you are experiencing is normal.

Wish I was of more help but I am assuming it is normal. My bleeding stopped the moment I had my Mirena put in and my period has never returned and it has been almost 1 yr.
