I wasnt going to post anything about this, but its getting worse and worse!
About 2 months ago something weird started to happen when I would have sex with my boyfriend. After sex the hearing in my left ear goes all funny. Its always my left ear, and it feels like im trying to listen to something underwater. It goes away after about 5 minutes. At first it was every other time or so, but now its every time we have sex. Has anyone else had this happen because im not sure why suddenly this would start occuring, im totally confused.

Ear
Hi kitz,

i'm not sure if you having sex has any real bearing on the ear thing unless you just happen to be in a position that triggers it. Unless of course increased blood flow during arousal is a factor. Does it tend to happen near/after the point of your orgasm?

I would suggest that you visit an ent specialist (ear, nose & throat), mention the problem you are having and get your ears examined. If you're in the uk you would see your gp (general practitioner) first and get a referral.

Perhaps your ears are a little blocked and the activity during sex plus the position you are in is causing wax to shift, which would then be relieved by the change in gravity when you stand up?

I'm clutching at straws a little, but you need to get it checked out. You could always try some over the counter ear drops and see if the help.

All the best, take care....

After I orgasim, I sometime have the same thing happen to me. The difference is both my ears fill "fuzzy" kind of like a tv station that is not coming in clear. I also feel a little dizzy and lightheaded. Smile

Hi Jessica
Hi jessica,

i would say, in my non-medical non-expert opinion, that it is most likely the increased blood flow that is causing the 'fuzzy' sound in your ears. There is a thing called 'pulsatile tinnitus' where the sufferer hears a kind of rhythmical rushing noise in their ear upon changes in blood pressure such as standing up after sitting, or bending down. It would be interesting to note if the fuzziness you experience seem to have any rhythm to it?

I'm sorry, but my proposed treatment for you is that you need to stop having orgasms! Smile lol

Hi Stu!
I'm sorry, but no way can I stop having orgasms. They feel too good. Laughing I do beleive the fuzzieness that I hear may be from blood pressure change. My blood pressure has been up in a bad way before, but this is not a bad way. I don't think there is a rhythm, sorry. Smile

I agree that it is most likely due to bloodflow. I too get a rush of blood to my skull when I orgasm, and it can make my ears feel fuzzy for a minute or two. Sounds to me like you are simply expereincing a slightly stronger version of this; although the length of time may imply some fluid retention, which could signify contracted blood vessels. I don't think it's anything to worry about, however.
