I need someone to reasure me about this. I went to emergency because my ulcerative colitis was flaring up.

Well they ordered x-rays of the abdomen to make sure nothing was abnormal was happening in the colon. Anyways what distressed me about the whole procedure was my groin area was not covered by a shield to protect it and the last x-ray was really nerve racking for me because they moved the camera from taking pictures of my abdomen area to directly in front of my groin area and took a x-ray.

Can someone please tell me why they would take an x-ray of the groin area and because of the lack of protection can I become infertile. Is this a normal procedure? Part of checking the abdomen by taking an x-ray of the groin or should I voice a complaint to the hospital.

Thanks for reading and any help would be appreciated.
