I am on ortho tryclen lo and I wanted to skip a period while I was traveling on business. I just skipped the placebos and went straight to the next pack (i now know that this is not the correct way). All that has happened is that my period was delayed for 4 days and now I have been having a period that starts and stops for the past 10 days. I am halfway through this pack and am starting to get scared. Can someone please give me advice as to when I should stop bleeding? My period normally only lasts about 4 days. Thankyou

Are you bleeding very heavily?

You may just have to wait until the next cycle of placebos for your body to reset...

If you are heavily bleeding then you should go to the doctor.

Skipping is best done on a mono phasic pill!!

That is why you are having problems, because you are trying to skip on a tri phasic pill!

That bleeding is normal, it will not harm you.

When women use seasonale, they are told to expect almost everyday spotting and bleeding for the first few months, due to the body needing to adjust.

You do not need to keep taking your pills until the next cycle, you can stop and allow a 'period'. Usually in women with prolonged bleeding, this helps them 'bleed it out'.

You would need a new pack though for when your period is over.
