Yes, it is ok! I've had herpes 2 for over 20 years. I've always been careful not to have sex with my husband when I had an outbreak which isn't often. As you get older they come less seldom. Valtrex is wonderful and it goes away quickly once you take the pill. My husband has never caught it from me. I have two children that were born healthy.
