Q: Optician Wants to Undercorrect My Vision

I went for an eye-exam a few days ago, the optician told me that my left-eye has dropped by .50, which is good, and my right eyes remains the same.

So he suggested that I make new lenses. But he wants to reduce my right-eye at the same time, by .25, which he says wouldn't be any problem.

Is he correct?

Undercorrection of Vision
I just saw your query concerning your vision correction. If you have not already received a reply to your question and/or you have not had new lenses made for yourself, please be assured that your optician's advice was correct and there will be no negative impact to your vision by undercorrecting your vision by .25d. This is a very minimal amount of adjustment in your prescription and, generally speaking, is an almost unnoticeable change that can be recognized by most people. You are fortunate that your prescription is actually decreasing rather than increasing for it is very rare that this happens as people age because your visual acuity naturally decreases. Congratulations and good luck!
