I'm a 27 year old male, and I have had the same sexual partner for about 10 years now. I had only particapated in oral sex prior to my current relationship, but I know she had several sexual partners prior.
In the last couple of months a couple of times I developed sores on my buttocks, and I believe once behind my thighs. They are always single sores, which I initially thought there were some form of pressure-related sores, as I am pretty obese and sit at a computer chair all day at work and then several hours when I get home. I can be at the computer at home for sometimes periods of 3-5 hours, because I am an avid online gamer.
Anyway, i'm a pretty paranoid person when it comes to my health, so recently I started going to the doctor for every little sympton I had as i'm really trying to drop bad habits (drinking), and lose the weight. My most recent doctor visit was for a tingling/kinda numbness I was feeling primarily in my knees, but it feels like it is sometimes in my legs too. This has been going on for about 2 weeks now, and during this time I noticed I had a small sore on my buttock again. I failed to mention the sores to my doctor, because I did not yet make the connection to the tingling feeling in my legs, which I later read can be a symptom of genital herpes. He didn't seem to be too concerned with the tingling feeling in my legs, but we did an x-ray anyway, which I have yet to get the results from.
Anyway, the sores are sometimes really painful mainly because I sit so much, but most the time they go away relatively quickly and generally do not rupture, but do feel soft like they have liquid inside them. Sometimes they aren't even very painful at all, and I don't notice them when not sitting. The couple of times they did rupture, they started to bleed, but they never seem white or pus-like as in a lot of the pictures I have seen. I do tend to itch a lot on my buttocks, and the backs of my thighs, but I attributed that to dry skin or something. I also have never had a sore on or near my penis/genital area.
Long story short, my girlfriend has never had any symptoms, so is it possible that one of us could have gotten it from a previous sexual partner even though it was that many years ago. Then it just now surface only with myself? Based on what I have said, does it seem like I may have genital herpes? I am going to get tested asap, but I am really stressing out right now, and could use some insight.
