I had horrible panic anxiety attacks, and stomach problems on paxil and effexor. Elavil made me terribly irritable. I am thinking of either prozac or lexapro. I suffer from moderate depression and anxiety. I need something that won't make me totally wired and anxious. Anyone who has tried both or either, your opinions, I am med sensitive, but I know everyone is different, but if I can't tolerate the side effects, I cannot take for 3-4 wks or so.

Prozac....
Prozac did absolutely nothing for me except a bad taste in my mouth. No difference at reg. Dosing. Zoloft has worked well (i need a high dose). At 50 mg......Nothing
100mg.....Less ocd, mood swings (side effects though)
150mg.....Gained 35 lbs. And sweated constantly and shook alot

100mg. Makes me shake all the time like I have parkinsons, but to me, it's worth it. Without it, I am a monster to live with. Hope this helps....

There has been many good things said about lexapro. I took it for my ruminating thoughts that would spin me downwards. It totaly helped me not focus on bad things in genral. For me I found no sideeffects. I've heard others not being able to really sleep on it and what not.

Also, for some reason I find it super hard to belive that people can be on more than one medicaiton. The body is sensitive...Even more so with a chem imballance/mood disorder.
