There are many reasons for anal itching (pruritus ani):
1. mental factors (depression or anxiety);
2. contamination with worms or their eggs;
3. fissures et fistulas;
4. inflamed hemorrhoids;
5. alkal stools with a lot of bacteria;
6. hyperhidrosis;
7. irritable bowel syndrome;
8. allergic or toxic contact eczema;
9. local infections;
10. intensive washing with soap and other dezinfectiences, etc.
Anal itching, due to inflammation and infection, could also be part of hemorrhoids. To get a clear diagnosis, you can visit your primary care physician and first request a visual examination of the affected area.
