Hi everyone,
I am new here and would like to see if
anyone has had a similar problem as me.
Several weeks ago, I started to have
severe pain in my left hand. It started
in the knuckle area of my 3rd finger from
the pinky finger. I didnt think to much
of it. It got worse as the weeks went on.
It has spread to the palm of my hand and
now has gone through my wrist and up the
lower portion of my forearm. My last 3
fingers goes numb every now and then.
Someone mentioned to me that it may be a
pinched nerve in the neck. I ended up
going to a chiropractor and few times but
to no avail. The part that really has me
worried is at times, I can move my fingers
but cannot grasp anything with pressure.
I try to pick something up and is just
falls right out of my hand. It does not
happen all the time but is becoming more
frequent. Has anyone else ever had this
problem before? I have been working with
my hands all my life as a mechanic and
metal fabricator.

I had that problem when I was a teenager.
I lost strength and had alot of numbness
in my left hand. No pain though (except
the numbness that hurts). I couldn't even
hold on to a glass of milk. Drs. Found
nothing at the time. I had problems like
that for as long as I can remember. 20
years later, I have broken both hands (one
2x's), had 3 wrist surgeries, and i'm
getting ready for the 4th. Mostly (i
believe) from these "cysts" they keep
scraping out. It is hereditary and I was
extremely hard on my hands/wrists (was a
hockey player and carpenter). My last
surgery took care of my career- desk
jockey now. I would talk to an ortho.
About the possibility of cysts in the
carpal region. May not be, but certainly
can't hurt to look. Best of luck!

Hey there.
I had truly terrible carpal tunnel
syndrome. I'm a writer and a pianist,
and when my wrists went, I really
suffered. I went through a lot of
physical therapy, nsaids, the whole kit
and caboodle of "regular" treatment.
Then I found astym. It was recommended
by a physical therapist who had recently
been trained in the treatment system.
Astym cured my carpal tunnel. I feel
like some sort of true believer here,
because it was the one thing that got rid
of my cts.
In a nutshell, astym is augmented
soft-tissue manipulation, provided by a
pt. Included in the therapy are
designed-just-for-you specific stretches
and strengthening exercises. It took
about 12 treatments to just about
completely resolve my arm pain, how crazy
is that?? Oh, and the best part was that
my health insurance covered it, once I got
my doc to write me a prescription for the
treatment. (she had never heard of it,
but had it done to both of her elbows for
tennis elbow and now is another true
believer! Lol!)
anyway, go to astym.Com and find a
provider near you. Astym works.
