In 1993, I was on the pill. I got preg with my daughter.
In 2000, I was on depo. I got preg with my son.
In 2004 my hubby got snipped. 3 days ago my dr told me i'm pregnant!!!

Now for the story. I had been having terrible muscle cramps and spasms in my lower back for a week. It kept getting more and more painful every day. My Dr. Took xrays of my back and found nothing wrong. He put me on pain pills, and continued to monitor me everyday. The pills werent doing a thing! On the 4th day of seeing him we did a preg test. I thought he was crazy. I couldn't be preg. My husband was fixed!!! The lab results for my hcg came back high. (i don't have the numbers) Shocked

the next day we ordered another blood test to be sure no mistakes were made. Again, hcg was high. Shocked

yesterday I went to see the ob, and she did a vaginal ultrasound. She couldnt see anything in my uterus but the cyst. She said it may be too soon. So she ordered another blood test so we could get the actual amount of hcg in my blood.

Next tuesday I am to go back and do another blood test so we can see if the hcg number has gone up, and she will do another ultrasound at that time.

I am totally freaking out...

Am i, or am I not???

(birth control does not work with me!!!)

what do you think???

It's one of a couple things.

Your birth control, including the vasectomy, failed. You already know that hormonal birth control doesn't work for you so you really need to give up on using that type of bc. Secondly, if you are pregnant, your husband's vasectomy healed itself. It's actually pretty common.

If it's not pregnancy, it's possible there's a cyst or something that's making your body think it's pregnant and making you produce the hcg. You probably won't see a heartbeat until at least 8-10 weeks, if you are pregnant, so you really do need to wait to see what's going on.

Liz Lizard, Were you pregnant? Was the lower back x-ray an issue? I'm terrified that I'm newly pregnant...like 2 weeks and had 3 lower back x-rays last Friday. I just assumed I wasn't and then when I thought about it afterward I started to panic. I'm worried about the effects of lower back x-rays on early pregnancy! Anyone?!
