Hi, my daughter is 20 and has a 2 year old. Last wednesday, mid-afternoon, she found a blister by her ankle and scratched it. By saturday she had blisters crawling up her legs to her back. She has severe itching and went to urgent care. They have her on the 5 day (5,4,3,2,1) prednisone treatment and she has stopped using soap, etc. She is using claritin 1x per day and anti-itch ointment w/benydryl. Leading up to this she was at the doctor's for bloodwork last tuesday (since she is chronically tired) and she went to a thrift store. On wednesday she went to kohls and target (the blister was discovered at target). She then went back to her fiance's home (about 60 mi. From me). Other notes: she had mono about 3 1/2 years ago, got pregnant and now has a 2 year old. She was very active prior to the mono, figure skating 6-8 times per week, competing, testing and for shows. She was active at church and went to mexico and was sick after her return for a few weeks-i believe the trip was pre-mono. She had previously been diagnosed with add and took ritalin which she took herself off of after a couple of years with doctor permission. She had 2 guinea pigs-1 long hair/1 short hair- and has had rats and birds in the past. Our apt is very dusty and we do have some mold in the bathroom that has been there for a long time. She takes tri-phasil, albuterol as needed & ativan as needed. She is a tad high-strung and has a very stressful living situation with her fiance's parents (she stays with me 1-2 weeks out of the month when it gets to be too much). She is trying to get her driving permit and take ged tests. The urgent care doc said the prednisone should stop the blisters from coming but now they have started up again. Today is day 3 of her meds. She still itches. Any ideas would be helpful. She has a follow-up with her reg. Doctor next tuesday and I have an allergist I see (i accqired allergies 10 yrs ago-now very mild) and there is eczema & psoraiasis on the maternal side. It seems to skip around our large family-my mom has 11 in her family). Thanks again for any ideas as we are just starting out. Tj
