Symptoms of my “episodes”

the following happens between 1-2 hours after a meal and can last anywhere from 6 hours to 4 days.

Severe abdominal pain in urq (upper right quadrant) under ribcage that will radiate to my back. This pain doesn’t come and go, it is constant and steady

this area feels and looks swollen

this area is extremly tender to touch

it hurts to bend over to far

i feel like something is getting “squished” under my ribs; can’t slouch , I have to sit up straight.

It hurts to breathe deeply

full feeling (like when you eat to much)
nausea
bloating
belching
“burning” type pain in my sternum/stomach

my only remedy is tylenol pm and soaking in a hot tub 1-4 times

i may have diarrea one the day after an attack, other than that, my urine and stool are fine (no wierd colors). I don't run a fever. My hands and feet are always cold, so I don't know if I have chills or not.

I have had the above “episodes/attacks’ for the past 6 years and they have gotten worse over the years. I have had a previous trip to the hospital er approx 4 years ago (2003), and I was told that it was not my gall bladder, and it looks like I may be told that again by a second doctor. I had an ultrasound done 1/29/2007 and the tech told me that she didn’t see any stones and that I didn’t fit the type of person that usually has gallstones - usually overweight and older.

I also have the following: excessive sweating (underarms), feel like something is stuck in my throat (like when you take a pill that is to big) this has been within the last week and drinking water to try and “wash” it down doesn’t help.

Could I have gallbladder disease? Or acalculous gall bladder disease? I’m not sick with other diseases, however, I know my body and I know that there is something wrong.

How many times to the doctor / er before problem is found?

have you had a hida scan done? I don't have stones either but I have a gallbladder that isn't functioning well. 15%...Should be between 35-70. I have had a lot of the symptoms you are describing. I am having my gallbladder out next month. I would ask to have the hida scan done.
