Chest Pain While Smoking Weed (Page 2)

Hey all,

Im 25 and i have the same problem, i smoke weed 1-2 a day for about 6 yrs, and i started getting these chest pains about 1yr ago. they are on the left side of my chest, sort of under the rib cage, i also get the feeling that my blood is throbbing round my body (not in a good way) after i smoke. I would be interested in a reply from those above who went to see a doctor as i have not yest seen one. I noticed when i run for 20-25 mins, this pain goes away so for the last 2 weeks i have been running every morning. The pain returns when i smoke, only problem i find it really hard to stop.

About 3 months ago I started to notice pain in my chest whenever I smoked as well as shortness of breath. Also I began to feel a tingling sensation in my shoulders and sometimes in my arms. I was smoking very heavily during this time and have since cut back a lot. I plan to start running 5 days a week, i think this will def help. For the most part I am done smoking, the pain is not worth it and I don''t want it to get worse. I am planning to get a vaporizer but was wondering if anyone has already tried vaporizing instead of smoking but has still had the chest pains afterword?

i have the same problems as well.
everytime i smoke my heart feels as if im having a heart attck tho.. i get that pain below my shoulders too.my chest starts to flutter and i get a numb feeling sometimes but it can also have to do with anxiety. i tried using a vaporizer but it still had the same effect on me.its hard to quit smoking weed i know i should though. i even tried eating edibles thinking maybe it was just the smoke but it STILL made my chest hurt and flutter :/

I have the exact same symptoms as you. how often would you say you smoked when you smoked heavily? I smoke everday fat but im trying to stop since the pain is so severe now. is it almost like a burning sensation? and do you get it in your back like below the shoulders?

I was smokin sometimes 3 times a day everyday for quite some time, and I was smokin the cheap stuff so I would hold it in much longer to get a better high..not a good idea...I think this is what caused it mainly..now im stickin to the good stuff from now on..yeah man when it first started it was like a burning sensation in my chest, i had shortness of breath and tingling all through my shoulders upper back and arms...It felt like someone was squeezing my chest i just couldnt catch my breath..it was not a good feeling. Like I said I have since cut back alot and it has helped. I know what your going through it is very hard to stop but I am doing my best to stay strong until I can buy a vaporizer.....im hoping that it will solve my problem in the long run....you should look into vaporizing instead of smokin...

I have all the same symptoms as you and they get 10 times worse when i smoke. Ive been smoking 4-5 times a day everyday for about a year and i try to hold my hits in as long as i can and ghost them(and everytime i smoke i use a bong nothing else). Ive heard that its not good for you to do that and im starting to believe them. But since ive been smoking so much for so long its hard to stop but i desperately need to.

How about NOT smoking weed?

People keep telling me that WEED or MARIJUANA is harmless to smoke, eat, shoot, otherwise ingest but in my experience I see every POT SMOKER around me having a diminished, detached, and numbed out existence with little or no real connection to the people in their lives that they used to love and cherish actively. These things seem to occur always and it's sometimes sooner, sometimes later. My Uncle is almost dead at 56 from Pot smoking and he once fell of a roof at work while on this illegal substance.

In my experience with relatives who use Marijuana I see that it leads to harder drugs/substance abuse and also lowers the vibration of the energetic field of the physical body creating a constant flatline mood, uncaring attitude, and irritable anger unless the user is actively engaged in using it. There also seems to be a mild to severe depression, which does create a vicious cycle of abusing other drugs including opiates and initiating a need for psychiatric intervention and more drugs on top of illegal ones.

I would however like the Hemp Plant to be developed for industrial uses in America because it would replace so many natural resources that are endangered or polluting such as trees or oil.

In my experience: Any and all positive feedback on Marijuana drug use comes from those who use it, grow it, make money off of it, and otherwise benefit somehow from the use of it.

Thats because people that smoke it are happy, relaxed, and in a good state of mind....(atleast the people that i hang around are).....Would you agree that being stoned is safer than being intoxicated?? I mean how many times have you heard of a man beating his wife because he was stoned? Or getting behind the wheel of a car and killing someone because they were high?? How then is MJ illegal when alcohol, which is far more dangerous, is not???

well i have been smokin weed for a no of yrs and i beleive that tobacco does more damamge to the organs if i smoke ciggies the next morning i have bad chest pains weed i have small chest pains why doesnt the government supply smokers with a electronic vapouriser to save peoples weed smoking and tobacco smoking lungs its the best and safest way to smoke especially if you want tro be healthy.

I used to smoke weed probably 6 time a day and everything was fine, untill i started noticing a pain in my lower right lung area. It would go away so I just kept smoking and finally it got bad and I went into the doc. I told him there was ashy like stuff in my spit and my side hurt pretty bad. I got 2 cat scans, blood work, and a ton of other tests and x-rays, everything came back normal. so i just stoped smoking weed and now that pain is still in my lower right lung area and its been almost a year since iv'e smoke, so if anyone who smokes weed and is experiencing the same type of pain i suggest stopping while the pain still goes away instead of dealing with a constant pain in your lung, that is an uncomfortable feeling to have pretty much everyday. Im 17 and f'd up my lung save it while you can unless you want to deal with a nagging pain everyday untill maybe someday it will heal its self who knos im just thankful it wasnt something worse, I personally think it was a warning sign from GOD saying dont smoke.......well thats all the info and advice I can give.

Following on from my previous post regarding chest pains, i have since drastically cut my weed consumption down. I started by reducing it down to one joint, and that would be last thing before i went to bed at night. After about a week, i was so tired by the end of the day i fell asleep without smoking! the next day i consiously tried not to smoke and had difficulty sleeping, so the next day i had one last thing before i went to bed. but i did realise it was the first in in more than 5 yrs i went to bed without having one.

now i am at a stage where i don't need to smoke it everyday, and my chest panis have almost altogether dissappeared, and i can feel it getting better day by day. i feel fantastic, I thought I wouldn't be able to do it, and here i am, i did it! i am so proud of my self and my view on smoking is that i am no longer a slave to it. I am happier and a LOT more productive and i love it.
I have not stopped 100% as I do still have the occasional smoke, but I enjoy the buzz a lot more and I can get the "high" off half a joint. Best thing is no more chest pains during smoking.

By reading your posts in my times of desperation provided me with a suttle comfort, knowing I was not the only one who had this problem (suffering alone is the worst) From a fellow blog reader to another i would urge you to slow down the smoking if you are having ANY sort of pains. IT WILL BE ONE OF THE BEST DECISION OF YOR LIFE. YOU CAN DO IT. if you think you can't reply to me and i will let you know you can there are NO EXCUSES. i looked back and read my last blog i thought i couldn't. I Did it.

I feel I owe at least that much to this page as it was the trigger for me to start. the best way is not to start tomorrow or next monday, START NOW. Cut down don't stop altogether if you enjoy it, but just remember how bad the chest pain is and do it for your future self.

Hi guys is everyone sure the cannabis they have been smoking is "clean" there is a lot of contaminated stuff out there I would advise everyone to check and check again people have been diagnosed with silicosis already and after doing some extensive research I believe this will be a catastrophic problem; i too have and still am experiencing pains; i smoked regularly for about 4 years, god knows how much or little was the contaminated stuff; i tried to avoid it however it is very hard to tell if it is, i will be going for scans soon i hope for the best!

im 21 iv been smoking for at least 7-8 years on a day to day basis i read all these comments and in last year iv been feeling these chest pains, arm pains, the way i put is sometimes i feel like i have a brick inside my chest then ill kinda have a hard time breathing also my body will sometimes feel like its shaking like im cold or something it scares me alot iv been to the doctor a number of times but they tell me nothing is wrong I THINK its stress honestly cause it NEVER happen untill i got older and i started having to worry about moving out and doing "real life things" and now every time i smoke im paranoid that something bad is gonna happen these comments helped me alot to know other poeple are feeling like this also SO IM NOT ALONE!! and i have recently tried to stop smoking its been about 2 months and still get these feelings just not always as INTENSE and more random rather then everytime im done smoking

well ive been smoking for about 2 and a half years, about a quarter a day out of the bong and nothing else. recently ive noticed bags under my eyes, i feel like im not alive, i have a dull and random sharp pain in my right lung, and its spreading to my left. and also ive had a right swollen gland for about 6 months! i still smoke alot even though i know i shouldnt, but its scarig me now and i dont know what to do anymore!!!!!

I'm 18 years old and started smoking weed at the age of 16. Everything was normal with me until one day after about a year of smoking frequently I decided to try mushrooms and did not necessarily have the best trip. Ever since the day after I tripped I've experienced chest pain on my left side right underneath where my heart is after smoking weed. When I first started getting the pains they weren't that noticeable. Over about a month the pain increased when I smoke and never decreased. I went to a cardiologist and had multiple tests done and was told I have a healthy heart. My cardiologist recommended that I see a pulmonologist and so I did. I went through multiple tests with him and I was told my lungs are healthy as well.

As uncomfortable as it was I continued to smoke and still a year and a half later I still experience the pain after smoking and even when I'm not smoking. I exercise regularly and I genuinely eat healthy. The pains I experience have changed over time. Now I get a tightness on my left side along my ribcage along with the pain underneath my heart. It's not always a pain, sometimes it'll be like a tight feeling and I'll feel a pop or the feeling of something moving after any sudden movements. I'm continuously told that it's anxiety but it's just hard for me to beleive that I can feel all this symptoms from being anxious. I get the pains even if I'm not feeling the slightest bit anxious. Does anyone have any similar symptoms? can this really be from my anxiety? I'm very young and do not want to live the rest of my life with these feelings. I have stopped smoking for extended periods of time to see if that was the cause but the pain still is there. Please help!

I kinda got the same thing as you, but haven't yet fully tried to stop smoking. I smoke weed and cigs, so I think this is the reason for it. I asked my stepmom, who isn't a doctor, but took lots of med classes, and she said it was my muscles. But I am now starting to think it relates to my smoking for sure. Gonna try to quit now. I was really worried that I had cancer or something, but it does seem psychological for me sometimes. If I completely can forget about it, like when I am moving around or exercising, or even really into some kinda ESPN program, it goes away. But if I just sit around, it tends to be there. It gets stronger right after I smoke anything, but weed is starting to trigger it even more.

The crappy thing it I ain't got insurance, but I do work, I just gotta pay for benefits, but I'm gonna do it. I also wanna quit cigs completely, and become an occasional pot smoker, but it's sooooo hard! If we all band together guys, I think we can all get through this. Just don't put a bunch of potheads and cig smokers in the same room when they're all trying to quit!

I think its better you immediately go and meet the doctor.Its some serious problem I guess.

I have been having powerful chestpains that would start from the center and spread through all my extremidies for about 7 months. No reason at all. Recently I went on quest for new and better technolgy, well try to make it anyway or theory. I found a man who truly understood the path of the electron and graphed it so it can be visualized and understood(Marko Rodin). That same design is the same of the earth when viewing the electromagnetic field. This lead me too satilite images of the North and South poles(amazing) it has holes. Then crop circles, lost city of atlantis, Scribes of Ancient Sumeria and there predictions of PlanetX, Mayan Calaender, and on and on and on.

Your pains are spirtually in nature. A veil of secrecy is falling before your eyes. The positive charge is calling you back to its love. If you except its love and truly embrace it you find yourself an instrutment for instilling powerful values which will spread to every individual you are capable of reaching. And in turn they will do the same.

i have been smokin on n off for abt 3 years(from heavy to once a day) and i nver really had any chest pain but when i woul lay down to go to sleep it would feel like someone was sitting on my chest and my breath would be short. this turned into anxiety that i would die at night.....i found out i had acid reflux(backflow of stomach contents and acid into esophagus) which smokin worsens...i have stopped several times cold turkey but it seema as tho my urges always lead me back to it.....i really need....it also feels as tho i get depressed....not a god feelin....i was at my best when i was spiritually walking with God so im trying to get back on the right path...any words of advice?
