I am to have a partial hysterectomy soon, leaving the ovaries if healthy. I need to know if periods continue if the cervix is left in place. Does the cervix really hold the pelvic floor in place? Or is incontinence a common occurance when thec cervix is removed? I don't want to have a follow up surgery later to put the bladder back if it falls. I had 3 kids and my abdominal muscles aren't terrific. I could live with a light period each month if it means I won't have to be opened up again for bladder placement. Please let me know if anyone has info on these items. My doctor just told me a little and then told me to research it myself. Thanks!
