My babies have cradle cap and I done what the dr told me and used baby oil and a comb to get it off is it suppose to make them loose their hair? And on one of the babies her cheeks are now red is that from cradle cap? I called the dr and they said its not an emergency to call back on monday.

Edited to add: her cheeks look a little better today just a little pink.

They had some stuff in the baby aisle at walmart before I dont know who makes it but it was for cradle cap like a shampoo, I used it on joseph . But like it says on it something about cradle cap . It worked quite well, I never used baby oil though . Jordynne hasnt got cradle cap .....Yet. But they dont have stuff like that here that ive seen. So eh hopefully they still sell it at walmart or something. I think its actually in the infants section , not where normal shampoo is for adults etc

I found the oatmeal wash works great for cradle cap. But my friends baby has cradle cap really bad, all over the head and on his ears etc. And theres an actual cradle cap wash, made by johnsons I belive and it has baby oil in it aswell, I think she got it at a drug store, hope that helps!

Cradle Cap
Both my girls had it.
With my second, I asked the nurse about it, because I was putting olive iol on it, and nothing was really happening - with my first I had done the same, and nothing was happening, and I ended up discovering that if I gave it a good rub with a facecloth, it scraped off most of the scaley stuff, however she seemed to lose a bit of hair (not that she had much) and it took ages for her to grow any decent hair later on, so I figured i'd done the wrong thing.
But , the nurse just said, oh no, just putting the oil on won't do anything- you've gotta rub in the oil and give it a good vigarous brush or comb and really scrape off all that dead skin.
Apparently whatever hair fell off with my first was going to fall out anyway.
So I went ahead, and meave never got cradle cap again, and has almost as much hair at 14 months as my older girl had a 3years!!!!
Just use olive oil though, not baby oil or any other kind of chemical nastiness. Do it after bath time.

Finn had horrible cradle cap (probably because I couldn't see it through all his hair and it just built up), I just used one of those soft bristle baby brushes when his hair was lathered up with shampoo and after a few baths it was gone. I don't think he's lost any hair though.

As for the pink cheeks... I don't know what that could be from. I'm sure it's nothing to be worried about.

Whenever I used baby oil n a comb on logan he used to loose hair. Check their bedding- there is probably hair on there too. They are probably just shedding anyway

I don't think so .Jess! I think 90& of baba's get cradel cap. It's just the skin getting used to outside elements.
