Anyone been diagnoised with hidden lithiasis in throat/neck? After 7 years and 4 surgeries I finally went to minnesota to the mayo clinic and doctors there have diagnoised me with this. They all agee my case is very hard to diagnoise. It all started with a whoshing in my ear and the symtpoms have progressed to choking when eating, hard rock like pieces coming from somewhere into my throat usually followed by thick mucus laced with white pus as well as tons of drainage blocked by the "rock". The formal name is calculi created by ones body sheding skin every 4 days. When the skin is not able to move through the body due to infection blockage in my case, it forms into hard rocks. I daily live with a neck that is so stiff I cannot move it, swelling in my neck and face and especially my throat around my adams apple, extreme discomfort and a ruined life. The doctors have done 2 sinus surgeries, a tonsilectomy at age 44 (which found tonsilithiasis not dectected by any tests), and removed a nodule on my vocal cord. I seek another who has had to live with this terrible situation and who might offer advice. I can find much info on broncholithiasis, sialithiasis, kidney stones and such but not much info on basic lithiasis and it's causes and cures. I am currently on a antifungal spray, nasonex, nystatin, allegra d and pain meds as needed. Support would be great as I am facing exploratory sugery if the new meds don't work.
