Has anyone ever tried avlimil? I have been on the pill for almost 9 years and my sex drive is in the gutter. I just wondered if the avlimil really helped balance everything out? Any input would be appreciated wether it is on the avlimil or another product you have tried.

Doctor
Went to the doc yesterday, she suggested not to take avlimil not only because of it's cost but also because it was only tested in 40 women and they don't really know if it's safe. My doc said the only sure fire way to get sex drive back is to go off the bc completely and try something with out hormones. She prescribed wellbutrin to see if that helps. It is an anti depressant but she said it is more commonly prescribed for women with this problem than anything else. Jaydensmommy, I hope you read this and it helps!! Smile

i've also tried avlimil. I've been on it maybe six months and I have not noticed a difference. I will be cancelling my order.

Do you still need the b/c protection though? Because you could just switch pills to one your body resonds to positively. I have been on pills that decrease my sex drive, increase my sex drive and then the one I am on now does not affect it at all. I mean, if you are trying to have kids. O.K, but if not, maybe you should just switch pills.

Hey
I have been on b/c since I was 15. And I have noticed in the past 2 years that my sex drive has completely died. I feel bad for my boyfriend because he sometimes feels like I am not attracted to him anymore. It's not that I am not attracted, it's just that I have no desires. I mean we mess around alot, but sometimes it takes me a long time before I feel "into it" if you know what I mean. I was wondering about that pill, and how it works, so if anyone has some advice please share it. Also, can you take the enhancement pill while you are on b/c, because I am not ready to go off it yet. I am only 20, I am sexually active and I am not ready to have a baby, I want to finish college first.

All you have to do is talk to your doctor about switching pills. I was on the same pill for about nine years and then it started to have affects on me that it never had before. But there are all kinds of b/c pills that have different hormonal levels and your doctor actually should have this one book. It is a book that lists all of the b/c pills. Under the pills it lists side effects and what pill to switch to if you are having one of the particular side effects. But just remember when you switch pills your horomones are all out of wack so you have to wear a condom for at least the next two months. But you should notice a difference within a couple of months, but definately by the third month. Hope this helps.
