Q: Question About Hbp Med Lisinopril And Quitting the Medicine.

I had bought a wrist blood preasure cuff months ago and was taking my bp at home and it was always high. Sometimes very high like 175/98 so I told my doctor and he put me on 5 mg of med. Which is a very low dose.
Anyway lately I discovered that I was using the wrist cuff wrong which resulted in high readings. Cuff must be at heart level. I always had my wrist laying in my lap. Rolling Eyes
i stopped taking my pill and my bp is normal around 115/75 in evening. My question is... Is the med still in my bloodstream after I quit using it and that is why it is normal?
I hate taking medicine and would rather not take it if I don't have to. I know...Ask my doctor, but right now I don't have one and won't for another 3 weeks.
Does anyone know how long lisinpril stays working after you quit using it? And should I take my bp for next 3 weeks with med or without for doctor visit?
Thanks much!!
Debby

I'm not sure how long the meds stay in your system. I wouldn't think more than a few days. I didn't know that just by different positioning with the wrist cuffs that it makes that much of a difference. Hope everything turned out ok for you.
