Q: Stomach Swelling?
asked by: Monoster on January 26th, 2007

I know that mono can cause your spleen to swell, but is that actually visible from the outside of your body? Im a very petite girl, so it looks strange to have such a large stomach..Its weird looking too, like from my hipbones down it looks like there is a balloon stuck there..?

My neck and my stomach both got swollen at the same time, and both are still very swollen..Ive had mono for 3 weeks now, is this normal? Is there anything I can do to make the swelling go away?

The swelling on your neck is just your lymph nodes (don't worry my neck was like that just last week) it'll go away. If your spleen/liver is swollen you should go to the doctor so it doesnt erupt. Try not to physicaly overdo your self and rest.

Pain in Stomack
For close to 4 months now I have had swelling in my stomach along with severs pain in my rib right under the breast. I can not use the bathroom its like something is there stopping me from pushing and the pain is unreal. I also want to throw up just smelling food, i can't eat my stomach always feel full. My stomach swells so big I can not fit my clothes from a size 7 to a size 10 just because of the swelling in the stomach. And i can not burp nor any gas once again if i push it hurts.

pain in stomach
Hi,
What you describe sounds like my symptoms exactly and I have a esophogeal sliding hiatal hernia. They sound it doing a scopt down my throat. It is miserable and it NEVER goes away. Hope this helps a bit.
