Has thrush.

Shes been taking .Nystatin for a few days, but it seems to be getting a tad bit worse even tho im putting it in her mouth 3-4 times a day.

How long does it usually take to go away?? And does it usually get worse before it gets better?

Not to go off your topic or anything but what is thrush? I've heard people mention it before but don't know exactly what it is? Isn't it bumps inside the baby's mouth or something?

Whatever it is though, sorry you're little girl has it Crying
or Very sad .Hope she gets better soon!!

Oh wow, poor .Oni! Catys isnt nearly as bad.. Just a couple white bumps on her lips on the inside so far.

The doctor said to take it for 7 days... But I think its going to take more than that to get rid of it. Sad

its a yeast infection in the mouth (and sometimes trout (sp?)) its the same kind people get in their *hoohaa* only its in the mouth area

and yeah the main sigh is a white rash or bumps on the tounge lipes or inner cheeks

i think they get it from having the formula/breastmilk in their mouths and getting bacteria growth from that, but I could be wrong, I can go research it, just give me a minute lol

feel better caty...Lots of hugs

~alicia~

*edit* ignore the thing about the formula/breastmilk, it looks like it has something to do with being sick and antibiotics and that killing certain kind of beneficial backteria in the mouth

Nah .Alicia you were right the first time. The doc said it was from falling aslep with formula in her mouth and the bacteria growing.

But its gone! Totally! I dont know how but it is.. But we're going to keep giving her the meds incase and we've steralized everything now its gone.
