Q: Unprotected Sex; On Pill; Bleeding; Pregnant?

I have been on ortho tri-cyclen lo for almost three months. On the seventh day of my third pack, I had sex and the condom broke, but we didnt realize until we had finished. It will be two weeks since the sex on saturday the 27th. For about the last week, or maybe a little more, I have been spotting, but it hasnt really looked like blood, its more brownish. Im afraid im pregnant. Could the spotting be a sign of pregnancy and when should I take a home test to find out for sure? Please help!

P.S. Im should be getting my period on monday or tuesday, the 29th or 30th.

Well, personally, I think it's best you wait until the day your supposed to get your period and see if it comes. If not wait a couple days and take a home pregnancy test. If it comes up negative and still no period after another 5 days, test again! Smile

Spotting between periods can be very common while taking the pill. Especially in the first few months.

You did not have unprotected sex if you are on birth control. When people say unprotected sex, they usually mean without any form of birth control.

I doubt you are pregnant. But if you are late for your period, take a test.

See the same thing happened to me...Im on ortho-tri cyclen but I missed 2 pills but took them the next day..I had sex and I had sex with my bf and the condom poped mid way (we had no more to we jus said o weel at teh moment) when ma period came it was only on for a day....Ma boobs hurt and I feel like I might throw up every now nad then. I took a test yesterday but it was negitive..Im going to wait and test again...But you should test...I mean if u were taking you pills regularly ur fine.

Yeah I have never missed a pill but sometimes ill take one almost two hours late. I dont know if that affects it at all. And I took 2 tests one last friday and one yesterday (sunday) and both were negative so I think im good. That was a question I had though: normally ill take my pill around 930 pm. Sometimes ill take it two or two and a half hours late. Will that change the effectiveness?

It never effected me before...I take mine 7 in the morning and on the weekends I dont wake up that early soo I take it when I wait up..I havent had a problem..I mean as long as u take it around that time..Im pretty sure ur fine..I havent had a scare till now....(i was the one that posted guest..I 4got to log in)
