Stomach noises: gurlging sounds from intestines Posted: 01-26-07 11:26am
For the past 2 months or so I have had
problems with my stomach. At first I was
getting sharp pains, bad enough that I was
unable to move sometimes. They stopped
after a few weeks and now I am left with
my stomch rumbling and making funny noises
practically all day everyday. No other
symptoms, just the funny gurgling noises.
Can you suggest what it may be?
Gurgling noises coming from the abdomen
are probably due to the increased
peristaltic effect of the intestines. When
peristalsis increases, the liquid
intestinal containment (himus) moves
faster causing turbulence. The turbulent
movement of the himus causes sound
effects. Sound effects are more expressed
if there is an air in the intestines. If
there are no cramps, vomiting or diarrhea
present gurgling noises coming from the
abdomen indicate no disorder.
