How long have you been out of the states?
Some time last year I think, sudafed
became a controlled substance.
Apparently, you can use it to make meth or
something. You don't need a prescription
to get sudafed, but you do need to go to
the pharmacy counter and ask for it.
They record your name, the date you
purchased it, and how much you purchased.
I think it affects both children's and
adult versions of cold medication
containing pseudophedrine. Even some
combination otc medicines like nyquil have
taken pseudophedrine out so that they can
remain in the aisles instead of behind the
pharmacy counter.
