Q: I Don't Know How to Say This, But Here Goes...

I think that I might have broken up with brandon to early....I think that I am pregnant. As most of you know I have mirena. This is so not what I wanted...I was going to go back to school next semester, I guess I still could. I haven't taken a test and I am really worried about it. My period is 3 days late and I am on time all the time. This is crazy......I am going to call my doctor and ask what I need to do about this iud.

One question, if I am preggers, and they take it out wouldnt' it expel the baby too? I wouldn't want that to happen. And I have heard that if you become preggers with the iud it could cause bad birth defects.

What am I going to do?

I researched and it said this about the iud.

"if a woman becomes pregnant while using an iud, it is highly recommended that she have the iud removed, whether or not she wants to carry the pregnancy to term. An iud increases the risk of having a miscarriage or premature birth.

A woman who becomes pregnant while using an iud is also more likely to have an ectopic pregnancy. An ectopic pregnancy occurs when a fertilized egg attaches and grows outside the uterus. This can be very dangerous and requires emergency medical attention."

all I can say is, call your doctor as soon as possible, or even go to the emergency room to get a blood test. Goodluck

Uh oh, I would first go and get a test. (like we say to all the girls here-lol)

maybe it's all the stress from the break up and stuff making you late. Oh lord, ack, I don't know. I would find out for sure first.

girl you must be kidding me telling me to take a test. I know I need to do that......Dont' be trippin on me. Hopefully it's just all the stress....But I have been really stressed out since the birth of my child. So........Ummmm I don't know.

My period was an entire month late this month.

It finally came yesterday, when it was due on the 1st week of .Jan.

Take a test girl. If it's negative, then the .I.U.D could be causing you to have irregular periods.

It will most likely be tonight because I have put it off long enough. I am keeping my fingers crossed that I am not....But if I am, well my dear sweet tubes are getting tied after this baby because if the iud didn't work for me then I dont' know what will, the shot and the patch both failed for me. Lol ack!!!

Darling I wouldn't worry about it. The mirena coil eventually causes your periods to stop (although not everyone) I haven't had a period for months.

It's highly unlikely your pregnant Smile

my periods were the same then just stopped
