Well I was on depo the bc shot for about 2 years and I read a lot that many people got pregnant on the shot and some didnt even know because when they took the test somehow the depo would effect the results and say they werent pregnant and then they found out that they actually were pregnant... And I had sex right around the time I was switching from depo to the pill, and because this pill also prevents me from getting my period im not sure if im pregnant or not because ive had a few symptoms but it says those same symptoms can be caused from birthcontrol so im not sure if im pregnant or not and im scared that I wont know because I have no way of knowing if I had a missed period and if these symptoms are from being pregnant or from birthcontrol unless I take a test and ive been really afraid to go and buy one

Well eh u need to buy a test but if u just had sex id wait at least 3-4 wks or so before taking a test , or u can go to the drs and get a blood test to tell u for sure. But symptoms cant determine if ur pregnant u get the same ones before your period starts to in some women

No birth control affects the result of a pregnancy test.
Only hcg (human chrionic gonadatrophin) the pregnancy hormone is picked up by a pregnancy test.
This hormone is only made when a pregnancy implants (although polycystic ovarian syndrome can produce a similar hormone I believe).

But not birth control.

I am in much of the same boat so to say, except I now know I am pregnant. I was in the process of switching from the depo shot to pills because the shot had been causing some serious problems. I hadn't had a period in a year and a half. I have yet to get one... I was told by my Dr. That I could be irregular for upwards of 2 yrs till my body figured itself out. I was also told it would be nearly impossible to become pregnant and/or carry to full term. I didn't even know I was pregnant... No morning sickness, no spotting. I gained a little weight, but thought it was because I had a different job that didn't allow for as much exercise and a change in my metabolism. I never tested positive till now... At 4 months... And only because I went in to have my thyriod checked because I wasn't loosing the weight. I would advise you to go to a doctor... Even a clinic and voice your concerns... A simple ultrasound can confirm/disprove your suspicions.

what happens when you have unprotected sex then go on the depo?
i had sexual intercourse on the last day of my period and then a week after went on the depo. if i am pregnant would it still show on a test?

Yes. The depo doesn't have anything to do with the hormones that are created during pregnancy and won't affect any test.
