New User, Becoming EHEALTHy
My gf is a couple days or less from starting her period. Well last night we did it for the first time since a few weeks and i've always pulled out. Well last night I didn't pull out, should I be concerned?? Its not that we don't want to have kids but we're not ready to just yet.

The 'pull out' method is really not a method of contraception at all. Precum, which is secreted from the penis before ejaculation contains sperm.. Some say it contains more sperm than ejaculate itself.

This itself is putting you at risk. And I don't need to tell you that ejaculating inside her with no other contraception is a silly thing to do if you don't want to get her pregnant yet.

The most fertile time of a woman's cycle is typically around 2 weeks before her period. But women can get pregnant at any time of the month. If you are not ready to have a baby, then you simply need to be responsible and use contraception.

Extremely EHEALTHy
If you aren't ready for kids, then yes, you should be concerned. Essentially, the question that you just asked is, "can sex lead to pregnancy?" anytime a penis comes in contact with a vagina there is a chance of pregnancy. Anytime a penis comes into contact with a vagina without birth control, obviously the chances of pregnancy are pretty significantly increased. As fiona mentioned, the pull out method is by no means a reliable form of birth control. So at the moment, you aren't ready for kids, but you are using no protection by the sound of it. Pre-ejaculate often comes out in pretty small amounts and without the man even feeling it, so it can very easily go unnoticed, but it does contain sperm and can get a woman pregnant. It is also often released well before the male orgasms. Also as fiona mentioned, women have times of peak fertility, but protection needs to be used every time. Women don't usually know when they are at peak fertility. We know when the standard, perfect 28 day cycle says that they should be at peak fertility, but few women have that perfect 28 day cycle. Women can even get pregnant if they have unprotected sex while they are having their period.
