I would take legal action. That isn't right.....She needs to obtain a student handbook and if it's stated in the book....But I dont' think that sending him home is punishment.....All he is going to do is go home and play....If he gets hungry enough he will eat.

Thats messed up, I use to never eat school lunch

primary (elementary) school I would get it and give it to friends, middle (jr high) school I would either get it and give it away or stay with a teacher during lunch, and high school (freshman sophmore and junior years) I just didnt get anything (freshman and sophmore I would stay in the library and junior I would stay with my art teacher)

only reason I would get it and give it away was that I wanted to keep the juice

thats rediculous in both situations

I would refuse to pick him up, and threaten legal action if they didn't drop the matter immediately.

I find it hard to believe that was the only reason. If it really was the only reason, I would be livid and would take action immediately. All children are entitled to a free and appropriate education and kicking a child out of school for not eating could constitute a law suit, seriously. If I were the parent, I would call the superintendent. I am sure that person would not be happy if he or she found out that happened in one of the schools. I personally wouldn't eat those two either - it sounds gross.

Have that person call the superintendent or the state department if they don't get anywhere with the superintendent. Shoot, I would be tempted to go to the media depending on how stupid the situaiton was. They would be denying my child a right to an education for not eating. Are we in the 1800's???

Dude! That movie looks so freaky! It's called "the number 23" and it has .Jim .Carrey in it. Apparently 2 divided by 3 is .666, and mister man (jim) starts seeing "23" everywhere. Like, it's in his social security number, his birthday, his anniversary...

Aaron showed me the preview, and then I started doing it too! It's nuts!

I would be wild!!! But before I tweeked on the school I would make sure it wasn't written somewhere that is their policy. Then I would ask for clarification on it. I can't believe they legally can send a kid home for not eating lunch. I didn't eat lunch at school, their food is nasty.

I would want to be sure that the kid wasn't refusing to eat lunch knowing full well he was going to be sent home.

Personally I think him being hungry is a natural consequence to not eating. When he got home I would allow him to have an afternoon snack at his normal get home from school time, but he'd have to wait until dinner to eat a meal.

No I don't think so.

You know how sometimes words like diet or baby or pregnancy are double underlined in green and if you put your mouse over it gives an info box...

I think the word two is doing it for some people in the thread...
