Can someone that has had this type of hernia please explain what the symptoms were that led you to have surgery? Was the pain only when you lifted something heavy or chronic? Where was the pain? Severity? Etc.

I have read the internet and the typical symptoms like:

1 - pain when lifting heavy objects
2 - pain in testicles
3 - etc.

But I would be very interested in hearing what other symptoms people experienced, whatever those might be.
