Alright, I was in a relationship that left the scars and burns in my heart-so I decided to find myself and didn't date. I lived in chicago and had a great time while I was there. I found out that I can be alone and loved running the city exploring each street.
Well, now I am back in miami and ready to date. Where does one find someone in similar situation. Online? Seems scarey. Church? Seems desperate but not too desperate. Friends? Have you seen my friends..Jk but no thank you. Clubs? God no.
So encourage me and celebrate the fact that years ago the thought of dating someone else wasn't even a lingering thought with that bad man..But now I am ready. Tell me how you met your cutey. Or suggestions on what to do?

Thanks

Hi there...Sorry about the late response, hope your still checkin in on this post. N-e-ways it is hard to go out and date..Or "look for someone". Best thing to do is really not think about it. I know when your home or at work alone or whatever its very easy to think about it..But when your out try to keep you mind on whats going on..Friends, sports etc.

Also I alwasy though hmm...If I stick to what I like and do then ill eventually find someone that likes to do what I like to also right? Wrong. You gota be flexable, try new things...Go to new places and you will meet new people ^_^.

Best of luck.

I argee with ^^^^!

I've met online before... What a nightmare on elm street!!! I *highly* suggest *not* to go there!

Humm...That is great that you've discovered things about yourself! I might have to borrow that advice myself!

As far as dating.. It's good that you know what you want now- i'd take my time, join a gym, or a club or a class. Go to the library- like me and be a nerd Smile hang out with your notebook at a coffee shop, etc. Or stroll along the mall Smile I know, in my area- that the local radio stations always have holiday parties for singles only-- i've never gone. I've heard of singles cruises too!

I think though, the safest bet- is perhaps a friend, if they know someone- usually they won't steer ya wrong! Good luck and have fun!!! :p

I have actually had some good luck with the online thing. I have had maybe five or six dates from the internet. They all went fairly well. I don't have any horror stories to tell. I am actually dating a guy right now that I met off the internet! I never went out to clubs or bars (hate even the thought), and I was working in education (what's that like 95% women Rolling Eyes ?). So I turned to the internet. Not everything lead to a date of course, but I did get some dates and relationships, and a bunch of really good friends in the process!
