Doctor Question
Hi. I had a misscarriage with my 1st pregnancy. At 3 months my doctor told me my baby stopped growing at 4 weeks and had no heart beat so I had to get a d and c. I am now around 5 weeks preg. and was wondering since I dont have much morning sickness, like my last pregnancy, is there a larger chance I will misscarry again?

Morning sickness is often present during the early stages of a pregnancy. Morning sickeness is a is very subjective symptom and can not be considered proof of a normal pregnancy. HCG levels in the blood are considered reliable parameters for evaluating the early stages of pregnancy. During a normal pregnancy , the level of HCG in the blood doubles every 2 days. If the HCG-level does not increase by at least 60% once every 2 days, there is a risk for miscarriage.
