Hello. I just joined this because I
wanted to see if I could figure out
exactly what was going on with me. And I
currently am on vacation, and also dont
have health insurance at the moment, so I
can't exactly go see a doctor.
Not too long ago (several months or so), I
went to the doctor and found out I have
mitral valve prolapse - mvp. He said it
would just cause a tiny bit of chest pain
every now and then, but was nothing major,
I had nothing to worry about, etc.
But lately it seems to be getting worse or
something. It feels like the skin tissue
of my upper chest is much thinner than I
remember, and usually feels bruised for no
reason. I sometimes think my chest is
degrading or something of the sort.
Back when the pains were first begginning,
before I found out it was mvp, something
horrifying happened. My friend, just
playing around, punched me in the center
of the chest. It was not terribly hard,
he isn't strong, usually it's just
something I shake off after a few breaths.
But it felt like my ribs had smashed and
impaled my heart. I fell to the ground
in pain, and had to lay there crying (and
laughing, because it was so pathetic -_-)
from the extreme pain. I couldn't even
move or breathe without the pain being so
intense I could hardly stand it. The
entire rest of that night, the pain in my
chest was severe, though I was able to
walk and stuff, it just hurt alot. His
mother kept wanting to take me to the
hospital that night, but I didnt go, I
didnt think it was anything too horribly
bad to worry about for urgent care.
Anywho, nowdays it seems to slowly be
getting worse. At random times, for no
apparent reason, chest pains will just
start, and vary in how bad they are.
Sometimes it is just a little nuissance of
a pain, and other times I have to go sit
down because moving and breathing becomes
painful. Even when I dont have any pain,
I have a sense of lingering pain in my
chest. I can't explain it, but its like
even though it isnt hurting, I know it
will hurt in that spot, and ya. The pain
varies in how bad it is (from a minor
annoyance to not being able to move or
breathe without pain), and happens in
different areas (directly over my sternum,
in the soft tissue above the nipples, and
directly on my mitral valve I am
guessing).
I will go to the doctor whenever I can,
just incase, but I have been looking for
answers so I figured I would try here. I
am not sure if this is just part of mvp, a
bit worse than what the doctor described,
or if it may be something else.
Thank you ^_^
