My brother has ibs and his doctor prescribed fibercon which is a laxative. Wouldn't a laxative when he has diarrhea make his ibs worse???

Fibercon is a bulking agent which will absorb excess fluids from the colon and should help your brother's diarrhoea stop by making his stool more solid. Don't overdo it or he might get constipated. Find a happy medium.

Well, it can also work as a regulator of the bowels movements, making the bowel work more properly since it is deresgulated now. Smile
