Q: Not Peeing At Night
asked by:jessesgirl on January 24th, 2007
Extremely EHEALTHy
Ava's been sleeping anywhere from 6-9 1/2
hours at night. A few nights she didn't
pee. When she wakes up and I check her
diaper, it's dry. Is this okay? We
went to the Dr. Yesterday and I forgot to
ask him. I tried to look it up on the
internet, but nothing came up.

I would call the doc office to find out.
She's quite young still so she should be
peeing and you want to make sure she is
not dehydrated.

Yeah, that doesn't sound right. A baby
should def have a wet nappy after sleeping
for that long. Check with your doctor.

I agree with the others, she should
definately be wet when she gets up. Keep
us updated, and .I hope everything is
fine!

She's not dehydrated, b/c she drinks 5-6
oz every 3 hours during the day and never
throws up. I'll call tomorrow and
ask.
It only happened a few times and its
normal during the day.

it's not a matter o how much she drinks.
It's how many times a day she wets her
diaper. When trey had gastro last yr, he
was drinking like crazy and hadn't peed
for like a day and had to go to the hosp.
Just keep an eye out and make sure she
wets at least 4 diapers a day.

Thanks. Yeah, she wets more than 4 a
day. She has about 6-7 wet diapers and 2
poo diapers.

I was always told that formula fed babies
need to be given extra water to drink as
well as their feeds because the milk is
considered a food and not a drink.
Perhaps you could gve her a little cooled
boiled water to drink just in case.
(i do realise that the advice given in
.America may be different to that in the
.U.K)
