I was reading a bunch of stuff online lastnight just about babies in general & came across a couple pages that said how you aren't suppose to use crib bumpers anymore because they increase the risk of .S.I.D.S... Then another website I was on said that they were okay until the baby was 6 months old... I have crib bumpers in .Kaylee's crib, because since they came with the whole set I got at her babyshower, I figured they were safe. Now i'm a little worried. Sooo my question is:

.How many of you used/or use crib bumpers?

.Michelle

We still use crib bumpers and chu is 8 months old. I just tie them very tightly to the crib slats so he can't pull them down. I have to because when I had him in the crib one day sans bumper he was busy trying to get his hands through the slats...

Only used them for a couple of months around 8-9 months because he kept getting his feet stuck in the crib bars. But I never really used them. Confused

We used them Smile

i heard you should get rid of them once your child can get up on their feet on their own.

Never used them because of the .S.I.D.S risk. They prevent sufficient air flow around the baby apparently. Mind you, i'm surprsied that they can sell them if they're that much of a risk Confused

I'm not using them now because I want the air to flow freely and also his mattress is on the highest setting so he'd probably feel like he's in a box if they were on. However, I might start using them once he starts rolling around and getting his limbs stuck in between the slats. We'll see when we get there.

I've heard you aren't supposed to use them because when they move around at night they may end up too close to the bumper and suffocate....So .I never used them.
