I just started nuva ring the other day and got to thinking. If I have to wait a week for it to take effect when I first start using it. But, do I have to wait another week after my ring free week for it to take effect, or do I get a full three weeks of protection? Also, am I portected during my ring free week? I know, they seem like simple questions that should of come to me when with my docter but these things seemed to of eluded me, sorry. But I was hoping that someone here might have an answer considering their website doesnt help at all for these questions. Any and all of your responses will be aperciated. Me and my boyfriend love each other and are bolth some what afraid to touch each other. Hope to hear back from you!

you should use a condom during each act of intercourse for the first seven days during the first ring cycle.
Contraceptive protection continues throughout the ring-free week.
