I just read the story about this and I
don't think it was unreasonable. The
child would not sit in the seat and was
crawling under the seats and hitting her
parents and screaming. The other
passengers shouldn't have to deal with
that and who's to say the child wasn't
going to continue being a brat in the
air.
They were more than compensated. They got
reimbursed *and* 3 roundtrip tickets from
the airline.

I dont think it was unreasonable either
the 3 year old was having a major temper
tantrum. Now if she was just crying a
little I would think it was not right.

How ridiculous. The kid was out of
control. Either get your child calmed
down and seatbelted in, or get off. No
one ever said flying with a child was
easy, but you do have to follow the
airline's rules if you want to enlist
their services.
They need to get over it.

*prays my child is not like this*
.Adriana is only 10 months and she can
throw quite the tantrum. We're sticking
to our guns tho, and not giving in. Most
of the time she throws a fit when she
can't have our phone or something like
that...Something a child doesn't need to
be playing with anyways. I never thought
.I'd be dealing with this when she was
this young! Lol. So maybe she'll outgrow
that stage faster? Riiiiiiiight...I think
that's called wishful thinking.
But .I agree, the airline was in the right
here...Nobody should have to put up with
that.

I agree with everyone. It is annoying to
be on a plane or any enclosed space with a
kid that is having a tantrum. The only
thing worse would be being in an enclosed
place with an adult having a tantrum.

We circled over denver for two hours with
a screaming child. It was horrendous.
And her parents did absoloutely nothing to
console her. They let her scream for two
hours. What kind of parent does that?!

I just read it again and I don't know what
they're complaining about. They got their
money back *and* got to fly home for free
later *and* got 3 free roundtrip tickets
to anywhere. No wonder their child is an
out of control monster, they seem like
whiny brats themselves.
Did you see the pics on the aol link? It
even looks like she can't control herself
there.

I have flown on other airlines and they
didn't seem too concerned about their
passengers being disturbed by screeching
kids. I guess i'll fly airtram from now
on!!!!!
My music and earplugs are a must when I
fly

I always feel so bad when I get frustrated
at children having a fit in public ,
because I know some parents try their
hardest and just don't succeed, but when
you see people that are so dense as to not
understand why they would be removed from
an airplane when their child is
uncontrollable and they cannot make her
follow instructions that are for her own
safety and the safety of others , well
that ticks me off. They got their money
back and then some , no need for
complaints.
I'm a nervous wreck on planes and I really
think a child having a temper tantrum
would make it so much worse.
I really hope I have a quiet baby

too, but I look at him and say "there's no
need for that, no no no" and he quits just
like that. He listens so well it's crazy

Yeah .Logan has regular tantrums. He's
alot worse than .Layla. I never give in
to him though. I think he just found out
he had balls and realises it's a mans
world
i think the airline were right to throw
the kid off. I can't stand other peoples
kids screaming. I will take my kids away
from somewhere if they really start. They
obviously have no control over their child
for her to be running round lie that....

It's kinda hard to say. Sometimes it is
very difficult to manage a major temper,
but in the other side it is very
irritating to hear all the shouting and
screaming.

it's amazing how often that kinda thing
works.
If the temper tantrum doesn't bother you
and you don't raise your voice and stuff
and just say something like "there's no
need for that, no no no" as if you were
saying "no, I don't want chicken for
supper".
I heard that kids hear lower tones better
than they hear us shout.

If you get right down on their level and
speak really soft (almost whisper) it
helps. It's better than shouting at
them. Some parents obviously think it's
good to yell, in fact it's just another
person annoying the caca out of you.
My daughter had a couple of good tantrums
in the grocery store. I guess she wanted
a toy or something. The first time I was
so horrified that I just kept shopping.
She was in the cart. She wasn't running
through the store knocking things off
shelves, but she was being annoying. The
next time the very second it started I
told her quietly that if she continued we
would leave, and that's what we did, with
no food. It took a couple times of that
and she was great in stores.
She never never never would have hit me or
anyone else though, I never would have
tolerated that.
Consistency and not giving in is the best
advise a parent with a toddler can hear.
