Q: Inflammated Lesion Question

I had a inflammation lesion cut-off the other day. The lab results came back and they said I was in the clear. My question is, where do lesions come from? From what i've read, there are the cancerous kind and non-cancerous kind.

My question is, should I be worried it will come back again? Do they come from certain things or diseases?
