I know everyone is different, and my doc will tell me which pills is best for me, but she got it wrong the first time. Wink i've been on ortho-tric-cylen lo for over a year now, and things never got better. Only good things, my cramps were better and I didn't gain any weight when I restarted it.

So, what meds do you have good luck with? Yasmin?

you can consult your doctor about nuva ring. It's a soft, flexible ring worn in vagina for three weeks, than easily removed for one week.

You can be free not to think about your contraceptive everyday, because this ring is once monthly inserted.Medication is absorbed directly into the blood steam through the vagina wall membrane, providing consistant amount. That's way its effectiveness ratings are listed at 99%, comparable to patch and better than pill's effectiveness.

If your period is irregular you'll start to experiance regular, shorter and lighter one.

I've had much sucess with ortho tri cyclen. It's helped with everything from my heavy & very painful periods, to acne.. With very little, if no side effects. I've been on it for about a year now and don't plan on switching up.

I was on mircette for 6 years and had no problems whatsoever. I just switched last month to lutera (my medical provider's coverage changed) and haven't had a problem so far. My doctor said that she prefers lutera anyway because it has a more balanced ratio of estrogen and progestrin. She said that spotting may happen but being sure to take the pill regulary around the same time each day would help (i haven't had a problem so far), the only difference has been some breast tenderness (but that went away after a few weeks) and my period started very soon after taking my first placebo pill... On mircette I always started around the third placebo day. Something you should also take into account is the hormone desogestrel... Or lack thereof... Yasmin
I have been on yasmin for 11 months. I have a lighter, shorter and regular period. No side effects. Neither positive not negative. I had heard that it improves skin texture and thats its a "feel good" bcp, but I can't tell any obvious difference!

Last month I ran out of yasmin and had to switch to gynera. Been on it for a week now and I seem to have made a smooth transition.

I've tried quite a few different brands of the pill, but the only one that's really worked for me is levlen 28. My periods are extremely light (almost non-existant even) and they never last more than 3 days. I also had an awful time using ortho tri cyclen lo (and regular ortho tri cyclen)... so you might want to try a monophasic pill instead of a triphasic one. =)

I took Ortho tri cyclen lo for about 2 months, it was my first birth control ever and I really didn't like it. I was super moody too and always seemed to be in a bad mood. This month I switched to TriNessa and I seem to be back to normal. Hope that helps Smile

I first started with Ortho tri cyclen and after about 3 years, started to feel extremely moody, almost bipolar. I was put on ortho novum and then switched to necon (which I think is generic version of o.novum but not sure). I did pretty well on this for about 5 years but was starting to feel very moody, sluggish, and lack of sex drive for the past couple years. I recently (actually 6 days ago) got the Paragard IUD. I would have started my first active pill week on 2 days ago. No noticeable difference yet...
