I know first of all that anytime you have
sex you runa risk of getting pregnant, I
would just like some advice on what the
honest chances are in my situation. I
started my period on the 5th of jan which
it ended the 9th. I had sex on the 14th
and 15th with comdons and then again on
the 19th and the 21st with condoms.. But
he never got off while inside me. I had
to finish him orally after sex, so that we
(him) didnt worry, because I am obviously
very worried... When could I take a
pregnancy test? What are the chances I
could be pregnent? Does the fact that I
just got off of 3 years of bc, back in
october, make a difference? I am jsut
looking for some adivce to help me sleep
better and not further stress out delaying
my period even more once its due at the
end of the month!? How long are the eggs
"alive" after ovulation??? Guess I just
hear all kinds of stuff and want some
similar opinions to ease my mind....Please
and thank you!

You had sex with a condom? Then your
chances of being pregnant are pretty close
to 0. When used as intended, condoms
are pretty effective. Many are also
coated with spermicide in case of a break
or leak.

me a even better note? If I ended on the
6th when is the earilest io can take a
pregnancy test at home to ease my mind?

Whether he had an orgasm inside of you (in
the condom) or not won't necessarily make
a huge difference because of the sperm
that is in pre-ejaculate. If you want to
take a pregnancy test, you should go to
the store and look at them. Read the
boxes and see when it tells you you can
take it. I believe many of them say you
can take it as early as the first day of
your missed period. Either way, if the
condom didn't break or anything, and it
sounds like it didn't, then you have no
reason to be worrying this much. I have used
condoms for years without the pull out
method or any other form of birth control
to go with it. Condoms can be, and often
are, used alone. They are very effective
at preventing pregnancy even if they are
not used with any other form of birth
control. No method is 100% effective,
but some methods (including the condom)
are pretty darn close when they are used
as intended (that means not doing anything
silly like wearing two condoms at once).
If you want some extra security, you could
also look into the pill, extra spermicide,
diaphragms, or other methods to use in
addition to condoms.

I just noticed that I did not address your
question for how long eggs are "alive"
during ovulation. The answer: not long.
Women are only at peak fertility a couple
of days of month. We are at medium
fertility for a couple more. You can
predict when you will be the most fertile
if you pay attention to your cycle, but
protection needs to be used every time
even if you think you are not fertile.
Most women don't have perfect and
predictable 28 day cycles. That means
when we "should" be fertile and when we
actually are fertile might differ a bit.
It's even possible to get pregnant when
you are on your period!

Thank you! I will try to sleep more
soundly tonight! I am due for my next
period around the 30-31 of jan or even the
first of feb. If I have any more
questions I can pm you right?! Thank you
again... And if you would not mind, or
even think about it, put me in your
prayers....
