I take diane 35, and I have been taking this for the past 4 years.

I am just curious, my boyfriend and I have recently begun having un-protected sex. Not often, just every once in a while. We are in a monogamous relationship and I have been tested for stds, I dont think he has been tested but he's never had symptoms of any bacterial infections, nor does he appear to have hpv or herpes.

Anyways, I am concerned that I could become pregnant. I am taking birth control pills, but I am not consistant with the time of day that I take them. In fact I never take them at the same time every day. Every once in a while I forget to take a pill, and then double up the next day.

We used the 'pull out method' but what do you suppose my chances are of getting pregnant. I probably shouldnt be worried, but I am...

you need to be consistent with your birth control. I would suggest putting your pills by your toothbrush or on your alarm clock, so you'll be sure to take them at the same (or similar) time every single day.

Hpv is not only warts, you know. Hpv can also lead to cervical abnormalities and if left untreated can progress into cervical cancer. There is no 'site' test for that.

Herpes will only be evident during break out times - but can be passed to unsuspecting partners even when there is no break out of herpes lesions.

Aids is undetectable to the naked eye. As are many other forms of sexually transmitted diseases. A condom can be backup for your birth control pills and it can save your life.

As ingi said, you have to take your pill every day at roughly the same time. Keep in mind that it is a 24 hour pill, not a "when you feel like it" pill. Wink being even 12 hours late with your pill (not even one full day!) can increase your chance of getting pregnant. Stuff like that really needs to be done right or not at all. If you having that much trouble remembering to take the pill, try some sort of schedule or alarm clock as ingi suggested. If that does not work, you could either always use condoms or talk to your doctor about other options that you don't have to worry about every day.

As for the std part, I am going to echo ingi again. Not all stds have symptoms, so the fact that boyfriend does not show signs of any, sadly means diddly. Hiv/aids, the most deadly of the stds, often gives the infected person no symptoms at all. There are other stds with no symptoms too. Some of them, if left untreated, can cause other problems.
