First of all, I hate periods. That said, here's what's been going on. Maybe someone can shed some light for me.

My periods are like clockwork. Always have been. Almost always 29 days apart, maybe 30 once or twice a year. Last month, af came four days early, which is extremely irritating. Then this month, I should have gotten af on the 19th. Didn't come. On the 20th, there was just a little spot of blood. On the 21st, it was a little more. But still, it was barely nothing at all. Today it seems to be in full swing.

So what's going on here? I'm not particularly stressed about anything. I haven't been on the pill for months now. I know hormones could get out of whack and make things crazy, but why? What else could be causing my always-regular periods to be acting so crazy all of a sudden?

You answered your own question: hormones. What else could be the cause? There isn't one.

One of the troubling aspects of being a woman is our monthly cycle. As we age, our cycle can change. It doesn't stay the same throughout a woman's entire life, it changes. We have what we consider to be normal, where we may have a cycle lasting 28-32 days, but there is always some kind of average.

A few days, give or take, is not that big of a change. A drastic change like flowing through more than one pad or tampon and hour for more than a few hours and skipping periods altogether are things to see your doctor about.
