Sorry to hear of your troubles you are going through. I was diagnosed with Crohns when i was 17, 5 years ago now. I have been hospitalized twice in that time, although my Crohns is extremely active, i am not having too many flare ups.
Crohns is different for every patient, you will have to see various medical ppl (dietician, gastroenterologists, herbalists etc) i have seen all of these and more.
My Crohns is under control with medication and a specific diet, even though it is extremely active.
It can stop me from doing and being involved with various things, however alot of it is a mental thing.
I was 105kgs when i was diagnosed and went down to around 43kgs because of not eating.
My current weight and health is average for someone my age. The main things i cant do, are strenuous phsyical things.
So for work i am under taking a Law Degree, due to the fact that it isnt phsyical.
I can still play tennis, and surf and play soccer etc, i just have to look after what i eat on those days and making sure i dont strain myself.
Basically, you will have to find out what suits you, because everyone is different. But most of it is mental (thats what i have found). It wont ruin your life, you can still lead a normal life. Some ppl do have major complications, but 90% of the time, it comes down to how YOU deal with it.
Hope this helps.
P.S. Try to live with as little stress as possible
