Q: Update

Extremely EHEALTHy
I went to the doctor's this morning and had the ultrasound. I still have a baby, which is surprising. The heartbeat is strong. Then I saw the doctor and he checked my cervix, etc and tested the blood and it has two signs that my water broke. I asked about the big thing I passed and he didn't know - he said it could have been a blood clot. He put me on bedrest for at least a week to see if my sac will seal itself. I have to go back to bed soon but I want to hear reactions, opinions on what I passed.

I believe that it could have been a twin. Doc said the ultrasound at 7 weeks didn't show two but I heard they can sometimes miss, although it is rare. The thing this morning passed through extremely easy. I went back home and wanted to "examine" the item (please don't gross out, I would have flushed it if I had "for sure" knowledge that it was either a baby or blot clot - I really wanted to know for sanity).
My husband and I definitely saw something that was like tissue and extremely dark color. If it were a blood clot, would it tear apart easily? This didn't not. I am hoping it was a twin because if it wasn't my babies chances of survival is less than 50%, according to the doctor.

I just can't get the image of my beautiful baby on the ultrasound and wondering if any slight move I make can rip the sack and kill my baby.

Shocked wow. I'm so glad that things are okay for the meantime! Definitely take it easy! Keep that little one in as long as possible! I'm surprised they didn't hospitalize you if there were signs that your water broke.

I'm not sure about what you passed, as .I've never experienced a miscarriage. Unless there was a twin hiding behind the other on your original ultrasound, I kind of doubt it was a baby. So maybe it was a blood clot?

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you, hon. Please take it easy! I know it's hard when you have a family to take care of, but keep those feet up and try to keep those thoughts positive. Keep us updated! Good luck!

Oo thank god you still have the baby.. The item that you might have passed could be a blood clot. Or some thick tissue. When I had a miscarriage I passed a huge thing of tissue and it didnt feel good. I was 9 weeks along and it hurt! The doc told me that I wouldnt be able to notice the baby because it would be to tiny to even notice.. It might be the size of a lima bean if I was lucky. Anyhow im just happy to hear that you have the baby still inside ya.. Take it extremely easy and dont stress! Keep in touch and good luck hun!

I honestly think it was some tissue or maybe part of your mucus plug or something.
The baby would still be really really tiny.

You should have posted this in the pregnancy forum hun.

Try to think positive, because you're only making yourself feel worse.
Sac's can rupture and do seal up.

Just rest and think of the helping hand you are giving your baby.
You've seen him/her on the u/s so you know that baby is still safely tucked away inside.

Thanks guys. For me to get up and write this is a slight risk because I am supposed to stay on bed rest, completely. I am only getting on here to check and write. I will have my laptop monday so that should be easier.

Bed rest stinks and I haven't even made one full day yet - almost. I should get used to it. I am scared to move at all for fear that I am hurting the baby. The slight menstral like cramps have subsided, which is good because I guess that was a sign of labor. I still have it a little but it's getting better. As far as I know, I haven't leaked any fluid for almost 24 hours now. I really pray that I am sealing. I read that it is rare for you to seal and I also read that if the amniotic sac breaks before 24 weeks the prognosis is poor. Isn't it sometimes better not to read?? Reading info on the internet I think tends to make you more paranoid. I liked my doctor's predictions betters, which was a little less than 50% chance the baby will make it.

I am doing everything I can to help this baby survive. I am writing this in a very strange position but at I doubt it's doing harm to the baby.

We are buying a house and it will close in mid feb. If I will be put on bed rest for a long time, then the house will have to go. There is a chance my bed rest will last a very long time and also a chance that I can go into preterm labor if the baby makes it. The doctor is not concerned about the preterm labor as there are thing that can be done to stop it. I don't care about saying goodbye to the house, as wonderfully perfect as it is. I would rather lay in bed for the next six months or so and deliver my baby. My poor three year old is already going nuts with me laying in bed for this short amount of time. Money doesn't matter, my backaches and losing muscle tone doesn't matter. Seeing the perfect baby on the ultrasound was so emotional because I knew what s/he was up against. I will do anything.

I will write more when I have another ultrasound on monday. I am a bit worried because my belly has lost some of its hardness. It didn't have much before but some has "seemingly" gone. I am hoping that it's just me "tripping out" so to speak. I am a bit paranoid this last few days. Going to the bathroom is the worst as I fear another blood clot or baby will come out.

Thanks so much for your support.

Did you have an aminocentesis done recently?

The fluid in the sac is completely replenished every couple days, so don't worry too much and if you have been leak free for 24 hours you are doing great.

You just might have to acept that you are going to have to take things easy this pregnancy.

Ive always heard when people misscarried that when they passed it itlooked sort of grey like. My sister "misscarried" as she calls it at around 5-6 wks and said thats what it looked like. Coulda easily beena blood clot too . Lately ive heard alot about those. I alway sget myself paranoid lookin up stuff on the internet. Even reading the forums when I was pregnant. Bed rest is easier said then done lol. Even taking it easy wich is what my dr told me at 28 weeks and it was like impossible for me lol. Hopefully all goes well, wish you the best for ur baby. At least its still in there and alive. That would be a big sigh of relei ffor me.
