Rat

we have breeder rats (because I have 2 snakes and its easier to buy 2 rats for like $4 and raise the rats myself then to buy 2 rats every 2-4 weeks for $2 each rat) and they just had their first liter...7 pups....Seven!

Its hard enough just having this one inside me...How can anything have seven babies?

I just hope they all make it, I love baby rats, I think she might have eaten one of them but im not sure cause I didnt get home until afterwards but I saw what looked like it could have been part of a rat, but the rest she seems to be fine with, maybe there was something wrong with that one

its gross though, I think she gave birth on the guy (they usually lay on eachother) because she has blood on his back and stuff

its insane

You are a braver woman than I - there is no way I could watch a creature grow up, knowing I was going to feed it to another animal.. Do you feed them to the snake when they are still alive or do you kill them first? Do I even want to know?! Shocked

but your going to feed them to the snake anyhow! Lol

i use to have 3 rats, one boy and 2 girls. One girl got preggo and we put her in another cage and she had her babies. The other rat got preggo and had her babies so we put them all together.Well one day I looked in the cage and saw a head. . .And the body about 4 inches away. . .And it wasn't a body it was a hollow corpse. They had started eating each other. . .Ick!

Hmm I doubt you wanna know how we do it really, its kinda cruel, but it saves them both from pain and torture...Ill just say it has to be knocked out first, that way the rat doesnt feel it and the snake wont get hurt (if you leave a live animal in with a snake, if the snake doesnt eat it the initial fear from the other animal will deminish and it will try to hurt the snake...Like if a bear doesnt attack you after a while youd get the impression it wont and may try something)

to be honest I cant do it anymore, I start crying, I use to be ok with it, it is the food chain after all, but not anymore lol

and yes...All rodents are very weird ^_^ I have this theory that they got the name rodent because they have a dent in their brain...Im a retard I know lol

sandy if you really like snakes you could always get ribbon snakes or something (they are like little ones a reletive of the garder snake) they eat fish, I know that was a lot easier for my brother, until he killed them cause hes evil and stupid...But obviously I wouldnt advise it with the little ones, I dont know what im gonna do when my little one gets here, I cant bring myself to get rid of them ive had them too long and love them, but I know its dangerous (even if they dont bite (which they dont, never have, never even showed the inclination, not that they wouldnt though, it is a snake after all) but they can carry selmanella, I have to have my mum or hisband handle them right now cause im afraid of getting selmonalla and hurting my little girl)

sorry im bored and tired so im ranty and talkative, not much of that probably made sence, sorry, I think im gonna take a nap soon
