Q: Getting the Bump Going...

Before I get this going I want to say apologize for posting a couple of questions today , I just don't have anybody to talk to with answers and who better to ask then girls that have actually experienced it all, or most of it!

I'm 16 weeks and a bit pregnant and am showing, I was always relatively skinny and dont notice extra weight anywhere but my bum and my boobs (thank god for that , I finally have a chest!) but the bump in my belly is very noticeable , i've already taken out the belly-button ring and people often ask how far along I am. It's my first pregnancy and I was under the impression you don't show this much this early your first time around, but I do guess everyone is different. Does the size of my belly now , and as I get farther along help determine the size of the baby at birth?
Maybe this is a silly question but i'm sort of going into this whole thing blind as a bat!

Not at all. Your baby is still very small right now. Most of what is poking out is fluid and flesh. Especially since you have a smaller build, you're going to show a bit more dramatically than someone of a larger build might. Your baby will begin to really pack the weight on in the last trimester - the longer s/he stays in, the more weight s/he will gain. But right now? Tiny tiny tiny.

If you're small and your partner is small, your child will probably be small. If your partner isn't small, it's a toss-up. My husband and I are both slender, and our daughter was less than 7 pounds at birth. She's one of the smallest 5 month olds out there! But at the end of my pregnancy, my tummy was huge! Shocked

i didn't start showing noticeably until I was about 35 weeks, at the end I wasn't huge but people could tell I was pregnant and my baby weighed almost 8 1/2 pounds.

I have a little bump and I am 14 weeks pregnant everyone is just different. But it depends I suppose on your size and the size of the babys father.

This is my first pregnancy and I am quite small as well.

Sorry I know I am not of much help.
