Hey there... I'm rh negative and worrying about a few things. Now when I first started my ob appointments he told me that I didnt have to worry about the shots of rogam until I was about 28 weeks, but if I had any spotting to get straight to emerg. For my shot. About 2 weeks ago I had spotting and went for the shot of rogam, now I am just wondering, because i've had the shot , am I going to have to start getting it regularly or do I still wait until 28 weeks?

Hey! I'm .R.H(-) as well!! I'm blood type .A(-)

i had my 1st .Rhogam shot at 28 weeks. There are 2 shots that come with being .R.H(-)

one is during pregnancy and one is after birth depending on the blood type of your child. My daughter's blood type is .A(+) so I had to get another shot.

You don't continue to get the shot during pregnancy!

Don't worry! I'm sure all is well!!

You're almost ready to have her huh??

I was spotting at 15 weeks so I got the rhogam shot then. Then I had another one at 28 weeks.

I cant remember if I got one after the birth or not.

Alright thanks ladies ... Well i'm only 17 weeks so i'm not quite there yet , I had spotting though so apparently it's a concern because if the baby is rh positive and our blood somehow combines, it can create dangerous antibodies , still wrapping my brain around the whole concept of it I didnt even know I was rh neg. Until I got preggo! I'm also o neg.
Thanks again guys , I was hoping I wouldn't have to keep getting that shot right in the heiny Smile

I'm also rh-! Except .I have no idea what my blood type is.. Lol. I had to get the rhogam shot after .I had a miscarriage- what .I didn't know was that .I was already pregnant again! Ha! But they still gave it to me again at 28wks. But since you're already 17wks, .I donno if you'll have to have it again in 11wks or not! I don't mind getting a shot in my butt, lol. It didn't even sting!

A few girls on here are rh - i've never met someone besides my mom that is ... Everyone I mention it to seem to really have a hard time grasping what the hell I am talking about.
My rhogam shot was the first shot in the bum, that I can remember ... And the lady just stuck 'er in there ... The boyfriend was behind the curtain and laughed so hard because of the "silly little squeal" I made... That witch loved every minute of it :p
