Q: Syphillis
asked by: DoctorQuestion on January 14th, 2007
Greetings

My question is regarding the Syphillis disease. I have been married for almost two years. My wife had a blood test a few months ago, and was diagnosed with a low percent of Syphillis. The Doctor said that it was so low, maybe because she have had a penicillin treatment a while ago, and also mentioned that I probably won't have nothing to worry about. This is completely new for me. What should I do? Thank you.

You and your wife can both request several tests (TPHA, VDRL and IgG-FTA-Abs-test) to confirm or exclude the presence of Syphilis.
